Animate Orchestra was conceived as ‘a young people’s orchestra for the 21st century.’ Based across the London boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and Southwark, the orchestra empowers players to compose and perform contemporary music in response to classical orchestral works. I lead the technology section, helping 8 - 15 year olds to build sound sculptures, manipulate sound, collect and use samples and engage in musique concréte. Animate Orchestra have played at the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and Blackheath Halls.
