Music and sound is a cornerstone of my career; I challenge the perception of what it is to be a musician, as my performances to date illustrate. In 2016 I won funding from Arts Council England for a tour showcasing my live improvisation of electronics in collaboration with artists such as Terje Isungset, Corey Mwamba and Arve Henriksen.

I was invited to perform with Troupe at Wigmore Hall for a concert in 2021. For this performance I wrote custom software that allowed me to manipulate speech recordings into musical instruments, and then map them to objects such as a shoe and a vinyl record. I then played these objects during the finale. In March 2023 I performed with City Of London Sinfonia at Village Underground, leading improvised and spontaneous music making with bespoke software, electronics and orchestral players.

Dynamic, creative, spontaneous, instinctive and collaborative, this performance practice is vital to my other work, and — driven by my love of sound — the different elements of musician, technologist and sound artist all resonate with and against one another.
